Horse shoe is forged iron protection for the horse's hoof fixed with special tapered iron nails. Required for all horses working on hard towing path surfaces. It is considered Spiritual item by the astrologers. It is believed that the crescent form of the horseshoe links the symbol to the Moon goddess of ancient Europe, and that the protection invoked is that of the goddess herself, or, more particularly, of her sacred vulva. In some regions the horseshoe is placed facing upward, they considered that the horseshoe must point up otherwise the luck runs out. But on the other hand people of some regions placed it facing downward, according to them it must point down so the luck can pour onto you. However, when it is placed over the doorways of barns and stables, the horseshoe usually points downward, and it is said that Ono witch will pass under it.
Usually it is fixed on the outer door of the house as it is believed that it protects the house from evil sprits and evil eyes. It also remove bad luck and disease from the house. It act as a protective layer of the house , which protect the house from germs , diseases and bad luck. It is recommended in our Vedas too that if we hang Horse Shoe on the outer wall or door of our house then bad luck and diseases remains away from the house.
